I love Twisters, formerly storm, because unlike any other team I’ve been on, cheer is more than just a sport. We are a family, and within minutes of joining at the age of 8, I always felt at home. The gym is a safe place where there is nothing but positive vibes. The coaches support us in everything we do, and make every accomplishment we achieve a celebration. I would never ever choose a different family, because no matter what, the cheerleaders, parents, and coaches always inspire you to continue on.

My coaches are really funny and I personally consider them my older sisters because of my bond with them. They push me to do my best. My teammates are my best friends. We have been a part of this gym for 10 years. And even now, as my daughter graduates and leaves the world of competitive cheer, this gym will remain a part of us. This has been a safe place. One where friendships have been formed, life lessons learned, and memories made to last a lifetime. Far beyond any skill that has been conquered or award earned, this has been a family. Pam has built a welcoming space and when you are here you know you are home. We will always be thankful for the coaches that have been role models who have given more than just their time to the athletes. Everyone pours their hearts into the gym and that shows through the girls every time they take the mat. We will continue to cheer from the sidelines for Maryland Twisters Salisbury and we know the best is yet to come!

I love Twisters because the Twister family welcomed me and my daughter with open arms. They are firm but loving, you can tell they feel every emotion with their girls, from sadness to excitement. They celebrate every milestone big and small and push the girls to believe in theirselves inside the gym and out. The coaches always go the extra mile to make sure the girls know how much they are loved. They teach the girls more than just cheerleading. They teach them life skills, friendship, dedication, hard work, not to give up, positive attitudes, celebrating  others success, and supporting others when they fall.
